U.S. Marine Slogans

We as Marines, like our slogans. Nay, dare I say, we love our slogans. There is usually some sort of historical heritage attached to them, like "First to Fight," Once a Marine, Always a Marine," "Gung-Ho," "Good Nigh, Chesty, wherever you are," "Uncommon Valor was a Common Virture," "A Few Good Men," "The Few, The Proud, The Marines." These are all identifiable by Marines young and old, as well as most civilians. They are appropriate and effective public relation slogans.

However, there are some slogans that are used within the Marine ranks that usually only make it on T-shirts, coffee mugs, and bumper stickers, bu do epitomize the realm of Marines. Things like, "Death Before Dishonor," "The Marine Corps....When it positively has to be destroyed overnight," or "Swift, Silent, and Deadly," "One shot, one Kill," "When in Doubt...Empty the Magazine," "Marine Sniper....you can run, but you'll just die tired!", "Happiness is a Belt-Fed Weapon," "Machine Gunners....Accuracy by Volume," "Peace through superior firepower," and one of my personal favorites, "Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world...but the Marines don't have that problem!" - Ronald Reagan.

Ok, so that last one is more of a quote than a slogan, but it's still a good one.

What are some slogans you like?
